Dr. Caruth Receives Fellowship to International Internet Governance Course

HMG member Roger Caruth, J.D., Ph.D., received a fellowship to the 2013 European Summer School on Internet Governance, held in Germany in early August. The one-week workshop is organized annually by the University of Aarhus and the Medienstadt Leipzig e.V., a recognized “At Large Structure” (ALS) under ICANN Bylaws (http://www.euro-ssig.eu). Dr. Caruth was one of 29 selected from a field of 100 international applicants.
 
The course covers the political, legal, economic, socio-cultural, technological and other dimensions of the governance of the Internet. Lectures also cover practical matters such as the management of critical Internet resources and the development of the domain name market.
 
The European Summer School on Internet Governance (Euro-SSIG) assists students, academics and individuals working in the private sector or in government to understand better the global Internet Governance controversy and to acquire comprehensive and structured knowledge of Internet Governance.
