The Benton Foundation Announces FCC Lifeline Modernization

On March 31, 2016, the Benton Foundation released at statement announcing the The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) decision to modernize and reform its Lifeline program in order to help low income consumers have affordable access to the Internet. As the Judge explained, the commitment to create worldwide telecommunications service at a reasonable cost is a big step that brings the FCC closer to fulfill the promises made by the Telecommunications Act of 1934.
