Welcome

Howard Media Group is a team of faculty and graduate students who believe that scholarship and education have a role to play in shaping communications policy to better serve the public interest. We are specifically concerned with giving African Americans, other people of color and women a stronger voice in policy formation. Founded in 2009 by faculty members Reggie Miles and Carolyn Byerly, Howard Media Group is part of the School of Communications at Howard University, a historically Black institution dedicated to advancing African Americans and others traditionally excluded from social processes.
